Latin America is a natural extension of China's "Maritime Silk Road" in the 21st century. The friendship between China and Latin American countries has a long history. In the history of relations between China and Latin American countries, overseas Chinese and Chinese occupy an important position. Overseas Chinese in Latin America, especially Chinese businessmen, have played an important role in promoting friendly exchanges between China and Latin American countries, enhancing mutual understanding, and promoting the construction of the "Belt and Road". But the research on Chinese businessmen in Latin America has been relatively weak. The historical development process of the Chinese economy and Chinese businessmen in Latin America is mainly divided into two major periods: the early period of the rise of the overseas Chinese in Latin America and the Chinese economy (1840-1945); the period of economic development of the overseas Chinese and Chinese in Latin America from the postwar to the 21st century (1945-21 century). With the deepening of China's reform and opening up and the implementation of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, Chinese companies continue to enter Latin America. Latin American Chinese business groups have played an important role in boosting and bridging the investment of Chinese companies, and they are also facing new development opportunities and problems. Future development trends are worthy of attention.
